INTO THE EMERALD SEA

A magical realism short inspired by a Japanese fisherman folktale, Into the Emerald Sea is a reflection of the home left behind, and the bittersweet changes that follow. In the Southern coastline of Japan, Suzu emerges from the ocean after a long disappearance, returning to their grandmother.. who has reincarnated into a sea turtle. Both quietly undergo their own process of reconnection to each other and with themselves.
