Finding Private Omoto

Directed by Cathy Uchida

While researching her grandfather’s WWI military experiences, the filmmaker came across a collection of photos of Japanese-Canadian soldiers killed in action, but not of survivors. Divine intervention comes to the rescue in the form of a community historian, Debbie Jiang, who not only finds Private Omoto but shares his photo with the Vancouver community.
