Diamond Diplomacy, a documentary by Yuriko Gamo Romer, explores the dramatic and complicated relationship between Japan and the United States through the shared love of the game of baseball, from the introduction of the sport to Japan in 1872 to the two-position dominance of Shohei Ohtani.

Diamond Diplomacy, packed with history, baseball legends, and unheralded greats, is a moving reflection on the power of the game to build bridges in a divided world. Yuriko Gamo Romer, born in Japan, raised in the United States, and a diehard San Francisco Giants fan, is the ideal filmmaker to guide us on this fascinating cross-cultural journey.
