Take a sonic and visual journey from Manzanar to Tule Lake, through the works of VC Film Fest alums Ann Kaneko & Sharon Yamato. The Manzanar, Diverted visual sound bath immerses viewers in the world of Payahüünadü, “the land of flowing water,” also known as the Owens Valley, where the Manzanar concentration camp was situated. One Fighting Irishman tells the story of the man who rescued more than 5,500 people in Tule Lake from being deported to a country upon which many of them had never stepped foot.

ONE FIGHTING IRISHMAN tells the little-known story of San Francisco attorney Wayne M. Collins whose passionate and uncompromising defense of the Constitution drove him to spend 23 years representing Japanese Americans who renounced their American citizenship while imprisoned at the WWII’s embattled Tule Lake Segregation Center.
