VS

Justin, a 13-year-old Filipino-American, helps his immigrant father Asterio by doing chores around the liquor store if it means getting to play the arcade game Street Fighter II with other kids in the community. Justin mercilessly battles Marcus, a 16-year-old African-American store patron, and sparks a friendship with him which also brings to surface the racial biases of Asterio, whose been keeping a close eye on Marcus from the start. Things begin to shake up when Cory, the local bully, enters the store and faces Justin in a game. A competitive match between Cory and Justin takes a turn and puts Justin in a position to stand up for himself.
