LEADING

Directed by Grace Lee

Cast: Audre, Dr. Shadi Seyedyousef, Gia, Jessica Perez, Jessie Moy, Kali Perez, Liz

Deep gratitude to all of our community organizations for the work that they lead. Special thanks to Asian American Documentary Network and BADWest for their help in promoting this program.

LEADING is about young people taking matters into their own hands to build the future they wish to one day inhabit through activism and organizing. We follow two budding activists–Audre and Kali, ages 10 and 11, who are motivated by their families and communities to lead and fight for causes they believe in.

Through Kali’s and Audre’s leadership and commitment, the young girls deepen their connection to their communities and build self-confidence as they do. Ultimately, they realize that there is no age limit to fighting for something they believe in–especially if it’s for a future they will one day live in.
