How to Fest

Most programs and events during the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival will be hosted on the Eventive Virtual Festival platform or on Zoom. If you are interested in attending a program, please go to the specific film or event page for more information on how to watch the film or register for the event on Zoom.

Note: Films are not rated for content and viewer discretion is advised. All films are available to viewers in Southern California (excluding San Diego County), while some films are available nationally or globally. Please check each film program for viewing windows and geographic restrictions. Film views are limited, and films can “sell out,” which will be indicated on the individual film or event page. All programs are subject to change and/or cancellation without prior notice.

Please see below for our FAQ on how you can experience the Festival. We plan to add more information to this page, so check back for more updates!

BASICS

WHEN AND HOW IS THE 2020 LOS ANGELES ASIAN PACIFIC FILM FESTIVAL TAKING PLACE?
The 36th annual Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival will be held online from September 24 – October 31, 2020. We have partnered with Eventive Virtual Festival to create a streaming platform that will host most of our films. Click here to view our catalog of films in Eventive.

ARE THERE ANY FILMS THAT I CAN WATCH IN THEATERS?
No. All LAAPFF programs will only be available online.

WHAT ARE THE GEOGRAPHIC RESTRICTIONS FOR THE FILMS?
All films are available to viewers in Southern California, excluding San Diego. This includes the following regions: Los Angeles County, Orange County, Santa Barbara County, Ventura County, Riverside County, San Bernardino County, Kern County, San Luis Obispo County, and Imperial County. We are also offering some film programs nationally and globally. Please check each film program page for geographic restrictions.

The following film programs are available to viewers in the United States:

The following film programs are available for viewing globally (no geographic restrictions):

ARE THERE ANY FREE PROGRAMS?
Yes! We have several Free/Pay What You Can film programs available on a first come, first-served basis until we “sell out” of tickets.

CAN I WATCH FILMS AT ANY TIME OR ARE THEY SCHEDULED?
Our Festival films are programmed by viewing windows, as noted on the Schedule page. You can watch any film at any time during the viewing window that a film is available, provided that the film tickets are not sold out. If you purchased a single ticket to a particular feature film program or shorts program, you have 24 hours from the time of purchase to start watching the program. Once you start watching the program, you have 24 hours to finish watching the entire program. If you have a Festival Pass, the pass will only allow you to unlock the film once. If you want to watch the film again after the 24 hour watch window has expired, you will need to purchase another ticket.

Please note that the viewing window does take precedence over your watch window, so if the viewing window for a film closes before you decide to watch it, even though you have a ticket, you will no longer be able to access the film.

ARE THERE LIVE ONLINE EVENTS DURING THE FESTIVAL? WHERE CAN I FIND THE SCHEDULE AND HOW DO I ACCESS?
Please mark your calendar to join us for C3:CONVERSE artist conversations that will be presented each week (Thursdays to Sundays) via Zoom Webinars. Get to know the talent behind the films! Tickets are FREE, but RSVPs are required to access the Zoom link and password. All times are listed in Pacific Time (PT). Please visit the C3:CONVERSE schedule for more information.
