Welcome to LAAPFF 2025

Welcome to the 41st edition of the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival, presented by Visual Communications.  In a time of social, cultural, and political divisiveness, we celebrate diverse storytellers who believe in the power of our stories to initiate change.  While media is weaponized to destroy, these filmmakers build and connect communities. 

This Festival honors our cultural and movement workers who create worlds of truth and imagination.  From presenting the stories of our ancestors and beloved elders, to stories unbounded by youthful energies, we bridge present and emerging generations of storytellers to living histories, so they understand that they are part of a movement.  A movement rooted in rebellion towards liberation.

We invite you to join us as we grow our collective practice of sharing moments of healing through moving images.  And we thank you for supporting our work in finding justice through inclusive and equitable systems.

While this world was built by people like us, it was never designed for us.
