C3: Fireside with Alika Maikau and Lisette Marie Kaualena Flanery

This dual fireside chat brings two filmmakers together who dedicated to honoring and bringing Hawaiian stories to screen;  — Lisette Marie Kaualena Flanery (Lehua Films) explores the Native Hawaiian concept of gender fluidity through innovative theater in MAHU: A TRANS-PACIFIC LOVE STORY, while Alika Maikau brings his second feature length film MOLO’KAI BOUND that expanded upon his short film from 2019. Both having films in the festival this year, they will spend time uncovering some of the burning questions we all have about their journeys making their groundbreaking films and all things storytelling in an ever-changing world.
