Liquor Store Dreams is filmmaker So Yun Um’s feature length follow up to her Armed with a Camera short film, Liquor Store Babies, following the experiences of two Korean American children of liquor store owners in Los Angeles (one of whom is So herself). The film shines a light on the struggles and perseverance of immigrant business owners as they strive to make a better life for their children, and the ways that their children carry on those dreams in their own way.
