During World War II, 12,000 Japanese immigrants and Japanese American citizens were interned at Heart Mountain, including my husband’s family. This film documents the dedication ceremony of Heart Mountain Interpretive Learning Center in Wyoming, featuring appearances by Bacon Sakatani, broadcast journalist Tom Brokaw, former U.S. Secretary of Transportation Norman Mineta, and U.S. Senator Daniel Inouye. RETURNING TO HEART MOUNTAIN is a timely reminder of a political time and events that should never happen again.
