Yi-Hua visits her grandmother Nai-Nai at the family farm, pregnant and with her American-born husband in tow. As tensions rise, Nai-Nai storms off into the nearby mountains and mysteriously disappears, forcing Yi-Hua to confront the potential loss of the woman who raised her.
