In 1956, a young woman from Japan immigrated to California and raised a family on a farm. Eight years later, she enrolled in a floral arrangement school which originated in her home country. Now 91 years old, she and a fellow professor of the Ikenobo Ikebana School reflect on the beauty, legacy, and survival of this ancient art form in today’s America.
